2017 CROP WALK/TURKEY TROT HELD AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL THIS PAST SUNDAY

Approximately 220 participants ran/walked either the CROP/Turkey Trot 2.57 mile or 1.7 mile shortened variation of the longer course on Sunday, the 19th of November, 2017. Turkeys and pumpkin pies were awarded via random drawing after the run/walk. All donations collected will be utilized by the CROP and LA Cares charitable organizations to help the needy.

THE BEST TIME PREDICTORS FOR THE 2017 PACE RACE SEASON

The best time predictors for the 2017 Atomic City Road Runners Club race season (the top 5 predictors are recognized from their 10 best run predictions where the delta time totals added up to the lowest amount in seconds as compared with all other Club members utilizing the same format. Delta time being the difference in seconds between the participant's stated time for a run and the actual recorded time for that run. The winners were awarded cash prizes):

ORTIZ-ACOSTE IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Denisse Ortiz-Acoste was the best predictor in the final weekly pace race of the season held on the Canyon Rim Trail recording a 3 second error off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Jesse Woodroffe at 4 seconds off, Laura Woodroffe with a 5 second error, 7 year old brother and 10 year old sister Tyven and Rebecca Beaux tying at 14 seconds, Aurea Rojas recording a 19 second difference.

On the 1 mile course Roxana Candia was the fastest runner at 8:16 and 6 year old Adrian Medin was the top male with a time of 9:22.

Brother and sister 8 year old William and 10 year old Savanna Strother were the best finishers in the 1.5 mile distance with times of 15:27 and 15:56.

In the 2 mile run Nikol Strother came in at 14:17 for first place and 7 year old Logan Nolan was the best male recording a 24:15.

Ryan Smeltzer was the top finisher on the 3 mile course at 19:47 and Lynn Bjorklund had a 22:10 for best female.

The Club hopes everyone had an enjoyable 2017 season and looks forward to seeing everyone next season starting on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at 6:00 PM again starting at the Canyon Rim Trailhead on East Road (State Route # 502) across from the Co-operative Market.

SEVANTO IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Sanna Sevanto was the top predictor as well the fastest female finisher on the 3 mile trail course in the weekly pace race held on the trails behind the Aquatic Center. She had a 22 second difference under her predicted time from her actual time of 27:20. Other accurate predictors were: Tamara Jurado at 24 seconds off, Ryan Smeltzer with a 32 second differential and the top finisher on the 3 mile course with a time of 23:47, Zach Medin recorded a 33 second difference, and Laura Woodroffe was 44 seconds off.

On the 1 mile paved course Citla Nava was the first finisher at 7:43. On the 1 mile trail course Luke Atkins recorded a 11:09 for first place and Katie Gattiker was the best female with a time of 19:02.

Next week's race on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017 at 6:00 PM will be the final pace race of the 2017 season and will start at the Canyon Rim Trailhead off East Road (State Route # 502) across from the Co-operative Market. 1, 1.5, 2, and 3 mile courses will be available.

BRUNISH AND NOLAN TIE FOR BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Wendee Brunish and Jacqueline Nolan were both 3 seconds off their predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the Sach Cowan/Quemazon Nature Trails for top prediction. Other accurate predictors were: Sanna Sevanto with a 22 second differential as well as fastest female on the 3 mile course with a time of 32:37, Sue Elkins recording a 30 second error, and Paul Elkins with a 48 second difference.

Nikol Strother was the best finisher on the 1 mile paved course at 7:20 and 8 year old William Strother was the fastest male with a time of 9:33.

Brian Newnam was the top finisher on the 1 mile trail course recording a 16:35.

On the 3 mile course Ryan Smeltzer had a 29:05 for top finisher.

Next week's race will be the "Four Bridges" Race on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017 at 6:00 PM held on the trail behind the Aquatic Center. One mile paved and trail courses and three mile trail course will be available.

BEHNKE IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

For Tuesday's pace race, Sonja Behnke predicted well and was only 9 seconds off for her predictions for 3 miles.

There were 28 people who competed in the weekly pace race. The course was a fairly-flat 1-mile paved-loop mainly on Estante Way in Pajarito Acres. One could run any number of loops but with a requested time of 45 minutes or less. All distances from 1 to 5 miles were done.

The fastest female and male runners for 1 mile were Savannah Strothers (9:06) and Brian Newman (10:26). For 2 miles, the fastest were Tamara Jurado (21:05) and Linda Vance (21:06). The faster 3 milers were Zach Medin (21:52) and Rebecca Beaux (27:30). The 4 milers were Laura McClellan (35:12) and David Kratzer (37:57). Ryan Smeltzer and Aaron Jackson were the fastest 5-mile runners (36:50 and 37:11)

The best differences between actual and predicted times in seconds, adjusted to 3 miles, were Sonja Behnke (9), Karen Thorn (14), Mary Snow (15), Aaron Jackson (23), Laura McClellan (24), Ted Romero (27), and Ryan Smeltzer (33).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race will be on the Quemazon, Nature Trails, and Satch Cowan trails and will start at the Quemazon trailhead just beyond 47th Street left on the service road off Trinity Dr. coming from the Diamond Dr./Trinity Dr. intersection by the Hospital. 1 mile paved and trail courses and a 3 mile trail course will be available.

BJORKLUND IS THE BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Lynn Bjorklund was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on the Kwage Mesa Trail on North Mesa at 28 seconds off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Sonja Behnke with a 30 second differential, 8 year old Cara Gattiker recording a 36 second difference, 12 year old Pasha Trudolyubov at 38 seconds off, and David Kratzer with a 40 second difference.

On the 1 mile course Aurea Rojas was the fastest finisher with a time of 10:08 and her husband Felix Candia was the best male at 10:14.

Ryan Smeltzer was the top finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 22:06 and Sanna Sevanto was the first female at 30:26.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 at 6:00 PM on the 1 mile paved Estante Way loop in Pajarito Acres in White Rock which is off State Route # 4 to left on South Monte Rey to a bear right on Potrillo Road to right on the second junction of the Estante Way Loop off Potrillo Road. Runners can cover as many loops that they so prefer in a 45 minute time limit or less with best predictions recognized.

BJORKLUND IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Mark Bjorklund was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held under rainy conditions on the Lower Water Canyon Trail with a 4 second error. Other accurate predictors were: Sanna Sevanto with a 5 second difference and the fastest female on the 3 mile course at 26:05, Ryan Smeltzer recorded a 18 second error off his first place 3 mile time of 23:12, Ning Xu had a 33 second differential, and David Kratzer had a 35 second error.

On the 1 mile course Alexandra Cunningham was the best finisher at 10:57 and her brother Ian Cunningham was the first male finisher with a time of 14:38.

Becky Chamberlin was the top finisher on the 2 mile course recording a 22:00 and Bob Reedy was the first male at 31:22.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 at 6:00 PM on North Mesa at the end of the horse stables service road at the North end near Brewer Rodeo Arena. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

ROMERO IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Ted Romero was the best predictor with a 2 second error in the weekly pace race held on the new section of the Canyon Rim Trail by Smith's. Other accurate predictors were: Bob Reedy with a 11 second differential, Scot Halverson at 17 seconds off, Ryan Smeltzer with a 21 second difference as well as the top finisher on the 3 mile course, Laura McClellan with 31 second error, and Jackie Marr recording a 33 second difference.

On the 1 mile course Ted Atkins finished first at 8:09 and 9 year old Savanna Strother was the fastest female with a time of 9:03.

Sanna Sevanto was the best female on the 3 mile course with a time of 23:27.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, 8-29-2017 at 6:00 PM on the Water Canyon Trail located 2.7 miles from the junction of Pajarito Road and State Route # 4 heading West on State Route # 4 towards Bandelier National Monument in White Rock. 1, 2, and 3 mile courses will be available.

KRATZER IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(8-15-2017)

David Kratzer was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held in the Quemazon Development recording 4 seconds off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Kris Tuggle with a 25 second difference, Heather Hughes at 30 seconds off, Tamara Jurado with a 46 second differential, and Tad Hughes at 79 seconds off.

11 year old Leyton Stuhan was the first finisher in the 1 mile run at 10:49 and Mariela Saenz was the best female with a time of 11:49.

On the 3 mile course Jim Brunner was the top finisher recording a 26:20 and the first female was Laura Woodroffe at 36:24.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at 6:00 PM on the new section of the Canyon Rim Trail starting in the Southeast section of the Smith's parking lot by the auto body shop and Knecht Automotive behind McDonald's. 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

WILLIAMS IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(8-8-2017)

Ted Williams was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held by the County skating rink in Los Alamos Canyon with a 27 second differential off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Roxana Bujack at 29 seconds off, Jackie Marr recording a 33 second difference, Ryan Smeltzer at a 46 second difference, and Ian Corwon at 57 seconds off.

On the 1 mile course 14 year old Devin Corwon was the first finisher at 7:50 and 9 year old Savanna Strother was the top female with a time of 8:25.

Jim Brunner was the best finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 20:38 and the first female was Shannan Schnedler at 33:16.

Next week's race the Quemazon "Gut Buster" will be held on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017 at 6:00 PM and will start in the Quemazon development off North Road near the front of the Quemazon Montessori School on Esperanza. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

STROTHER IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

9 year old Savanna Strother was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held in Walnut Canyon on North Mesa with a 15 second difference off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Ted Romero at 19 seconds off, Mark Bjorkund with a 20 second differential, Anna Teterovskaya recording 23 seconds off, and Pavel Trudolyubov with a 29 second difference.

On the 1 mile course 11 year old Leyton Stuhah was the best finisher at 7:09 and Becky Chamberlin was the top female with a time of 8:39.

Aaron Jackson was the first on the 3 mile course recording a 24:03 and Sanna Sevanto was the best female at 27:21.

Next week's race will be held at the County ice skating rink on West Road in Los Alamos Canyon and will go to the reservoir and back. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

TRUJILLO-RONDEAU BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(7-25-2017)

Jeanette Trujillo-Rondeau had the best prediction in Tuesday's pace race, with a delta time for 3 miles of only 1 second.

The other better predictors (and the time in seconds that they were off their prediction) for the 3 miles were Ryan Smeltzer (12), Michael Young (16), Zachary Medin (18), Jim Brunner (38), Sonja Behnke (52), and Aurea Rojas (57). In the 1 mile run, the better predictors were Luke Atkins (10), Jacqueline Nolen (38), Roxana Candia (39), Anders Medin (41), and Adrian Medin (42).

The annual staggered-start pace-race/fun-run was held Tuesday on the White Rock bike path with 38 people participating. The predictors with the slowest times started first from Pinon/Rocket Park. Starting last were the ones with the fastest times (Billy Strother for 1 mile, and Jim Brunner for 3 miles).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race will start on the golf course service road, which is just south of the roundabout on San Ildefonso Road on North Mesa. Runs will be of 1 and 3 miles.

JACKSON IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Aaron Jackson was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held at the Ponderosa Campground off State Route # 4 with a 21 second differential off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Bob Weeks at 27 seconds off, Ryan Smeltzer with a 28 second difference as well as the top finisher on the 3 mile course at 25:17, Michael Young recording 39 seconds off, and Zach Medin at 43 seconds.

On the 1 mile course 11 year old Leyton Stahan was the best finisher with a time of 9:47. 9 year old Savanna Strother was the first female at 10:54.

12 year old Pasha Trudolyubov with a time of 18:32 was the top finisher on the 2 mile course. Becky Chamberlin was the best female finisher at 23:27.

On the 3 mile course Laura McClellan was the top female finisher recording a 32:59.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 at 6:00 PM and will be the "Staggered Start" race where the participants who predict a longer time to finish will start ahead of the faster runners with the ultimate goal of everyone finishing at the same time. It will start at Pinon (Rocket) Park on Sherwood Boulevard across from Smith's in White Rock. 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

TRUDOLYUBOV IS TOP PREDICTOR AND FIRST FINISHER IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Sergey Trudolyubov was the top predictor as well as the fastest finisher on the 3 mile course held near the Canyon Road and 15th Street junction at 7 seconds off his predicted time and a recorded time of 24:53. Other accurate predictors were: Mark Bjorklund with a 17 second difference, Laura Woodroffe at 21 seconds off, Denisse Ortiz-Acoste recording a 24 second difference, and Ted Williams at 42 seconds off.

7 year old Diego Leonard was the best finisher on the 1 mile course at 7:46 and 9 year old Savanna Strother was the top female recording a 8:31.

On the 3 mile course the first female finisher was Amy Johnson with a time of 27:49.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Ponderosa Campground which just on the right on State Route #4 East after taking a left at the "Backgate" which is the junction of State Route #4 and State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road). 1, 2, and 3 mile trail runs will be available. The Campground is part of Bandelier National Monument and dogs are usually not allowed or at least should be kept on a leash.

NEWNAM IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Almost 40 runners and walkers took to one, two, three or four mile pace race courses on Barranca Mesa. All finishers were treated to cool watermelon and cold grapes.

In the one mile course around Navajo, Los Pueblos and Barranca Roads, Brian Newnam had the best prediction, only 1 second off his prediction for an adjusted delta of 3 seconds off. Other good predictors were Katie Gattiker with an adjusted delta of 21 seconds, Diego Leonard with an adjusted delta of 39 seconds, Kieran Gattiker with an adjusted delta of 42 seconds, and Leeza Trudolyubov with an adjusted delta of 54 seconds.

In the three mile road course around Navajo, down almost to the end of Los Pueblos and back around Barranca Road, Beth Davenport had the best prediction of 111 seconds off of her prediction.

The two mile trail course went out on to the Deer Trap Mesa trail, taking the north folk for an out and back run (or hike) and the 4.1 mile course followed the loop trail Craig Martin and the Youth Conservation Corps established a few years ago. The tips of three mesas were reached for some great views. On the two mile course, Roxana Candia was the best predictor at 171 seconds off her prediction followed by Adrian Medin at 173 seconds off his prediction. On the four (4.1) mile course, Aaron Jackson was off his prediction by 22 seconds, Ted Romero was off by 24 seconds, and Ryan Smeltzer (who was the first finisher on the 4 mile course) was off by 59 seconds.

Predictions were hard make on the trail runs but, unlike the past few years for this course, it did not rain on Tuesday so the trail markings were easy to follow so none of the runners took alternate paths.

Next Tuesday is the 4th of July Holiday and there will be no pace race so support the local YMCA 5K Race or the TCR Freedom Run 5K in Albuquerque if you so prefer. The Tuesday, July 11th, 2017 pace race begins at 6:00 pm at the junction of 15th and Canyon drive. A one mile paved course and three mile trail course out to Graduation Flats will be available.

MANESS IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Lauraine Maness was the best predictor in the weekly pace race that started at Fireman's Park near the Mitchell Trailhead with a 12 second differential of her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Linda Vance at 13 seconds off, Sophia Pieck recording a 15 second difference, Jeanette Trujillo-Rondeau at 16 seconds off, and Laura Woodroffe with a 25 second difference.

On the 1 mile course the top finisher was Susua Hangor at 7:40 and the fastest male was Martin Pieck with a 10:07.

Ryan Smeltzer was the best finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 24:52 and Sanna Sevanto was the the top female finisher with a time of 28:12.

Next week's race will be held at the end of Barranca Mesa at the junction of Barranca Road and Navajo Road on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 starting at 6:00 PM. 2 and 4 mile trail courses on Deer Trap Mesa and 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

MANESS IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Lauraine Maness was the top predictor at 3 seconds off her predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the trail off State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road) across from the Laboratory's S-site. Other accurate predictors were: Zach Leonard with a 5 second differential, Jackie Marr recording 12 seconds off, and Sonja Behnke with a 15 second difference.

On the 1 mile paved course Isolina Viloria was the top finisher at 10:08 and 6 year old Adrian Medin was the first male with a time of 10:19.

Lyle Cunningham was the best finisher on the 3 mile paved course at 24:34.

Brian Newnam was the first finisher on the 1 mile trail course recording a 12:42 and 7 year old Cara Gattiker has a time of 15:10 for top female finisher.

On the 3 mile trail distance Aaron Jackson was the best finisher at 26:06 and Sanna Sevanto had a time of 27:27 for first female.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 at 6:00 PM starting at Fireman's Park near the junction of 45th, 46th Streets and Arizona Avenue close to the Mitchell Trailhead. 1 mile paved and 3 mile trail runs will be available.

STROTHER IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

8 year old William Strother was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held in White Rock on the upcoming Atomic Man Dualthlon course with a 60 second error. Other accurate predictors were: Pavel Semin at 62 seconds off, Bob Weeks with a 78 second differential, and Sue Elkins recording a 120 second difference as well as the first female finisher on the 1 mile course.

7 year old Diego Leonard was the top finisher on the 1 mile course at 9:11.

On the 3 mile course Aaron Jackson was the top finisher recording a 24:39 and Sanna Sevanto was the first female with a time of 27:00.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the trailhead across from the Laboratory S-site location on State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road). 1 and 3 mile paved and trail courses will be available.

MARR HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Jackie Marr had a perfect prediction in the weekly pace race held on American Springs Road with a time of 19:08 in the 1 mile distance. Other accurate predictors were: Felix Candia at 1 second off, Zach Medin recorded a 5 second differential as well as being the top finisher in the 3 mile race 22:55, and 8 year old William Strother was 9 seconds off his predicted time.

7 year old Diego Leonard was the best finisher in the 1 mile race at 8:16 and Roxana Candia was the first female with a time of 8:59.

In the 3 mile distance Aurea Rojas was the best female at 28:45.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, 6-6-2017 at 6:00 PM in White Rock at the Pinon Elementary School on Grand Canyon Boulevard. A 1 mile paved/trail course and a 3 mile paved course which will be the same course for the upcoming Atomic Man Duathlon will be available.

JOHNSON HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

4 year old Tristan Johnson had a perfect prediction in the 1 mile race recording a time of 14:30 in the pace race held in Rendija Canyon. Other accurate predictors were: Heidi Bjorklund at 15 seconds off, 6 year old Julian Ortiz with a 36 second difference, Jackie Marr at 51 seconds off, and Nikol Strother with a 69 second difference.

On the 1 mile course 7 year old Diego Leonard was the top finisher recording 8:00 and 9 year old Savanna Strother was the best female with a time of 8:02.

Jeremy Goettee was the best finisher on the 3 mile course with a time of 25:53 and Denisse Ortiz-Acoste was the top female at 40:55.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 at 6:00 PM on American Springs Road which is approximately 1.5 miles on State Route # 4 West up in the Jemez from the "Back Gate" which is the junction of State Route # 4 and State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road). 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

MARR IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Duane Marr and William Strothers were the best predictors in the 1-mile pace race, being 2.3 and 8 seconds off their predictions.

In the 2.8-mile race, Zach Medin was 2.4 seconds off and Ted Romero was 6 seconds off.

Tuesday's pace race was held on paved roads in Pajarito Acres and started on Acoma Lane.

Gayle Cunningham was 37 seconds off for 29:53 on the 2.05-mile course.

Other good predictors for the 1-mile course (and the times that they were off their prediction) were Anders and Adrian Medin (both 16 seconds), Julian Ortiz (17 seconds) and Roxana Candia (25 seconds).

The fastest runners for 1 mile were Savanna and William Strothers in 8:16 and 8:28.

For the 2.8 mile course, other good predictors were Ted Williams (14 seconds) and Laura McClellan (15 seconds).

The fastest runners for 2.8 miles were Ryan Smeltzer (18:57), Aaron Jackson (19:14), and Nikol Strothers (20:13).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race on May 23rd, 2017 will start in Rendija Canyon on the road to the Sportsman Club on Barranca Mesa.

MEDIN IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(5-9-2017)

Fifteen runners waited out the rain and lightning and enjoyed a dust-free jaunt for a one mile or three mile run on Barranca Mesa and in Bayo Canyon.

On the short course, Beth Davenport and Billy Strother had the best predictions being off by 81 seconds (normalized to the three mile course). Savanna Strother was the first finisher at 8:11.

For the long course, on which runners ran around Barranca Mesa Elementary School and then down the horse trail into Bayo Canyon to the point and back Gonzales Road to Barranca School, Zachary Medin was the best predictor, being only 27 seconds off his prediction. Felix Candia was 77 seconds off and Jeremy Goette was 81 seconds off and the first finisher on the long course with a time of 22:21.

Next week's pace race on Tuesday, May 16th, 2016 begins at 6:00 pm at the end of Acoma Lane in White Rock. From Highway 4 south of White Rock, take Monte Rey Drive South to Potrillo Drive to Acoma Lane. 1 mile and 2.8 mile paved courses will be available.

THE LEONARDS' TIE FOR BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(5-2-2017)

Erik (son) and Zachary (father) Leonard tied at 2 seconds off their predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the Burnt Mesa Trail in the Bandelier National Monument. Other accurate predictors were: David Kratzer with a 6 second differential, William Strother at 9 seconds off, Jesse Woodroffe recording a 11 second difference, and Ryan Smeltzer at 17 seconds off.

7 year old Diego Leonard was the top finisher in the 1 mile distance at 8:49. The fastest female was Roxana Candia recording a 11:41.

The 2 mile course had Isolina Viloria winning with a time of 20:50 and 6 year old Julian Ortiz the first male at 26:08.

Aaron Jackson had a 21:55 for the top participant on the 3 mile course and Nikol Strother recorded 22:40 for best female finisher.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at 6:00 PM starting at Barranca Mesa School on Barranca Mesa. 1 mile paved and 3 mile hybrid courses will be available.

ROJAS IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Aurea Rojas was the best predictor at 2 seconds off her predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the trail by the Rodeo Arena on North Mesa. Other accurate predictors were: Laura McClellan with a 6 second differential, Ryan Smeltzer at 11 seconds off, Mariela Saenz indicating a 15 second difference, and Roxana Bujack at 16 seconds off.

9 year old Savanna Strother was the top finisher on the 1 mile course recording a 8:16 and her brother 8 year old William was the best male at 8:19.

On the 3 mile course Aaron Jackson was first with a time of 20:58 and Nikol Strother was the top female at 22:28.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 at 6:00 PM on the Burnt Mesa Trail in Bandelier National Monument on State Route # 4 about 2 to 3 miles East of the State Route # 4 and State Route # 501 junction (The Back Gate). 1, 2, and 3 mile courses will be available.

TRUJILLO-RONDEAU IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Jeanette Trujillo-Rondeau had a 1 second error from her predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the Canada del Buey Trail in White Rock. Other accurate predictors were: Blake Hovde with a 4 second differential, Ted Romero at 7 seconds off, and 5 participants with a 9 second difference: Lyle Cunningham, Heather and Tad Hughes, Sanna Sevanto, and Linda Vance.

On the 1 mile course 13 year old Erik Leonard was the fastest finisher with a time of 7:22 and the top female was 9 year old Savanna Strother at 9:21.

Aaron Jackson recorded a 20:44 for best finish on the 3 mile course and the first female was Katherine Telfeyan with a time of 22:12.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at 6:00 PM on the trail just North of the Brewer Rodeo Arena on the horse stable access road out on North Mesa. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

Zach Medin was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on the pollution control plant road at the bottom of Main Hill Road with an 11 second difference from his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Scot Halverson and John Ullmann tied at 13 seconds off, Nicholas Parra-Vasquez with a 19 second differential, Ian Cunningham at 24 seconds off, and Kevin Love recording a 26 second difference.

On the 1 mile course 8 year old William Strother was the best finisher with a time of 7:40. The top female was Mariela Saenz at 8:14.

Ryan Smeltzer had a 21:00 for the top finish in the 3 mile distance. Nikol Strother was the best female at 21:14.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at 6:00 PM and will be located on the Canada del Buey Trail in White Rock starting next to the Chamisa Elementary School on Meadow Lane. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

KRATZER AND SAENZ ARE TOP PREDICTORS IN THE FIRST PACE RACE OF THE 44TH SEASON

(4-4-2017)

David Kratzer and Mariela Saenz were the top predictors in the opening pace race of the Atomic City Road Runners 44th season each at 12 seconds off their predicted time held on the Canyon Rim Trail. Saenz was also the best finisher in the 2 mile distance with a time of 18:54. Other accurate predictors were Sanna Sevanto with a 20 second differential, Roxana Candia at 30 seconds off as well as the top female finisher in the on the 3 mile course at 21:30, Maggie Caballero was 35 seconds off her predicted time, and Ceilia Duenas recorded a 47 second difference.

8 year old William Strother was the top finisher in the 1 mile race with a time of 9:02 and his sister Savanna was the best female finisher recording a 9:06 at age 9.

In the 1.5 mile distance Chris Michel at 14:22 was first overall. Linda Vance was the top female with a time of 15:29.

Nathan Knapp was the top finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 17:54.

Next week the race will be held on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 starting at 6:00 PM on the pollution plant access road at the bottom of Main Hill Road (State Route #502) entering to the left coming from Los Alamos just before the State Route # 4 junction to White Rock. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.
